In 2026, ChangKham Tea marks a new chapter. For the first time, we bring artisanal oolong craftsmanship to ancient tea tree leaves harvested from the high mountains of Chiang Mai, followed by traditional charcoal roasting.

From the distinctive mountain terroir to the gentle warmth of charcoal, each stage of craftsmanship reveals a remarkably layered and expressive character unique to this tea.

I. 1,400m Mountain Terroir: A Living Forest Ecosystem

The tea leaves are harvested from a pristine high-altitude region of Chiang Mai, approximately 1,400 meters above sea level. Here, ancient tea trees grow naturally alongside rocks, wild cinnamon trees, fruit trees, and diverse native flora.

Rather than growing within conventional monoculture plantations, these trees exist as part of a living forest ecosystem. This natural environment contributes to the tea’s distinctive regional character, aromatic complexity, and depth.

II. Oolong Craftsmanship Meets Traditional Charcoal Roasting

To express the character of this high-mountain terroir, ChangKham combines two distinct stages of craftsmanship:

• Oolong Processing: Precise shaking and controlled oxidation encourage the development of floral and fruity aromatics while preserving the distinctive character of the large-leaf ancient tea trees.
• Traditional Charcoal Roasting: Slow roasting over charcoal gently refines the tea without overpowering its origin character, bringing greater harmony, depth, and a rounded texture to the finished liquor.
